$127 Million Investment in New Zealand’s National Electricity Grid
As at 30 June 2026, the Fidelity Capital Sustainable Energy Fund had committed $127 million in private credit to Transpower New Zealand, the owner and operator of New Zealand’s national electricity transmission grid. Further investments are anticipated as Fidelity continues to deepen its long-term funding partnership with Transpower.
A Long-Term Funding Partner
Transpower Treasurer Chris Sutherland described Fidelity as a “professional and constructive funding partner”, recognising its role in supporting critical electricity infrastructure:
“The projects supported by these investments will improve network resilience, enable new renewable generation and support New Zealand’s transition to a more electrified economy.”
Active Investor Plus (AIP) visa
Fidelity Capital Sustainable Energy Fund is included on Invest New Zealand’s Acceptable Managed Fund List for the Active Investor Plus (AIP) visa Growth category.
For eligible applicants, an investment in the Fund may form part of an AIP investment strategy. The Growth category requires at least NZD 5 million in acceptable New Zealand investments for at least 36 months. Inclusion on the list is not a New Zealand Government endorsement or recommendation, and visa outcomes depend on each applicant meeting all applicable immigration requirements.
